Rocky Mountain National Park

Now this is what I call a worthy national park! Yesterday, I drove to Estes Park with friends to find winter weather and some road closures. But what a great wildlife viewing day! After passing miles of cut tree piles - pine beetle kill - we came across several herds of elk lazily enjoying the day.

We spotted a black tufted-ear squirrel crossing the road, and then through the canyon outside of the park we spotted these white butts teetering on the edge of rock. Can you see them?

Yep, these are the big horn sheep who graze on the cliffs. I'm impressed with how they maneuver that rock.

It was a welcome relief from the stresses of late. As I read through my profile, where I say I'm like a rolling stone, letting go of the past... well I've been challenged with that lately. Many shifts happening, home, studio, everything is changing in this wild reorganization of life.

Three weeks ago things were turned upside down when my condo building burned in the middle of the night. Since then, I have put most everything on hold until I get my footing set again. A new place to live, new everything likely, will need to be in place before I can continue on with my projects.

With such dramatic and swift change, I am brought back to paying attention to the very necessary only. And so if I don't get back to you quickly, or if I drop a project, promise, or goal, just know that my intentions were good. Sometimes life just has other plans that take precedence.

Namaste-
