On the first of the month I moved into my new studio at the Ft. Collins Museum of Art (FCMOA). They are in the old post office building in Old Town. They rent out several office spaces to tenants, mostly artists, two lawyers, and a cheese consultant.
On the first Friday of every month the Old Town area participates in open studios, and so the artists at FCMOA open up their doors, have snacks and blast music. I had just moved into the space, so I hung some art and opened my door. It was fun, there was a fair crowd, and I met lots of people.
The next day I set up shop for real, covered the carpet, got out my paints and started at it. It feels fabulous to have the space to stretch out in. I even have room enough to do tai chi!
