This composition reminds me of the patchwork plaid shorts they wear in the northeast.When I first arrived here in Wildwood I was interested in the hotel architecture and signage. I photographed many of them, then let the pics sit for months while I eventually got a bit bored of the scene.
I'm sure this place was quite the rage in its heyday. Now half of the older buildings are replaced with new bland ones. I'm amused though how the hotel names reference Hawaii or other real beach destinations.

And this is my favorite detail, the plastic palm trees. In the winter months they remove the palms from the base so they don't get trashed in the weather. Now some of the hotels have started to install the palms again. This is so Jersey.
